Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a Seasonal Tax Associate for in-person client service at a local tax office in California. No prior tax experience is required, with training and support from day one to help you gather information and prepare returns.

You will explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships while contributing to office priorities. You will earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
