Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services with training from day one. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns under guidance, building skills and relationships.

This in-person role offers a competitive hourly rate with earning growth as tax knowledge expands. The position is based in a local H&R Block tax office, with evening and weekend shifts during peak periods and the opportunity to work up to 40 hours

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
