Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in Texas to support client service and tax preparation at a local office. You’ll gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions with training from day one, earning an hourly rate with opportunities to grow as you learn.

No prior tax experience is required, and you’ll work in-person with clients during peak season, building relationships and contributing to the office’s priorities with a client-first approach.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in an understandable way
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
