Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to gain tax and client service experience with on-the-ground training and support from day one. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions, building skills and strong client relationships in a busy local office.

Work is in-person during tax season, with the opportunity to increase earnings as you develop tax knowledge. Evening and weekend availability during peak periods is helpful.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course (Tax Course)
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
