Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to help clients gather tax information, prepare returns, and answer questions in person at a local tax office.

No prior tax experience required, with training and support from day one. You’ll meet with clients, explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and work with teammates to deliver accurate results while building strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course or enrollment/completion
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
