Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate for an in-person role at a local tax office in Texas. You’ll gather client information, prepare returns with guidance, and answer questions while building client relationships. Training and support start from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows.

No prior tax experience required; a high school diploma or GED is required. Availability to work peak periods and weekends is helpful.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving and information organizing abilities.
• Comfort with digital tools and AI-based systems (Copilot, ChatGPT).
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
