Job summary

Cerity Partners invites a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our tax team for a part-time seasonal role in the financial industry. You will retrieve and organize client tax documents, set up projects, and assist with preparing federal, state and local returns.

You will work with SurePrep 1040Scan, create workpapers, research tax issues, and shadow financial advisors on planning projects. This role emphasizes integrity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, scan and organize tax documents for clients.
• Initial setup of tax projects for colleagues.
• Review scanned documents with SurePrep 1040Scan.
• Assist in preparing federal, state and local income tax returns.
• Create workpapers that tell how projects were prepared.
• Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues.
• Shadow and participate in client presentations.
• Shadow and assist Financial Advisors with preparation of financial documents and reports.
• Collaborate with a virtual team on financial planning projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a team player with a positive attitude and the highest level of personal integrity to join our tax team as a Seasonal Tax Associate. This role is also ideal for someone looking for a part-time seasonal position in the financial industry at a nationally recognized registered investment advisory.

Primary Responsibilities

• Retrieve, Scan and organize tax documents received by clients into our system
• Initial set up of tax projects for our colleagues
• Confirm and review documents scanned with SurePrep 1040Scan application
• Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local individual and business income tax returns
• Create workpapers that effectively tell the story of how projects were prepared
• Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues
• Shadow and participate in various types of client presentations
• Shadow and assist Financial Advisors with preparation of financial documents and performance reports
• Work with a team virtually to create a financial planning project or other projects
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Applications
• Actively participating in campus organizations, preferably within a leadership role, and/or professional work experience

Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour
