Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Advisor to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations. You’ll interview clients to understand finances and life changes, then offer personalized recommendations and tax-saving opportunities.

You’ll build trusted relationships, provide IRS support, and work with a team in a local in-person office to deliver empathetic, consultative service and strong client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 2+ years in tax prep, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse and complex situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and life changes; provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and HR Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
