Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Advisor to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients to assess tax implications, and identify savings opportunities. You’ll deliver empathetic, consultative service and contribute to a high-performing, client-focused office environment.

The role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, with industry-leading training and a competitive hourly rate plus an incentive plan based on impact and performance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and build trusted client relationships
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
