Job summary

In-Shape Fitness in California is seeking a Swim Instructor to deliver our Swim Lesson Program, providing members of all ages with swimming and water safety instruction. You will plan age-appropriate and skill-focused lessons based on participant abilities, and you should enjoy working with people, being patient, inspiring and motivating.

The right candidate will teach classes to high standards, maintain a safe environment, communicate with parents, and help build a welcoming, active community

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with HS diploma or GED.
• Prior swim-instruction experience preferred, levels I–III.
• Current lifeguard and CPR certifications or ability to obtain within deadlines.
• Ability to teach classes for mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Proven safety mindset and ability to supervise in aquatic settings.

Responsibilities

• Teach own classes to In-Shape standards.
• Maintain safe environment by enforcing safety policies.
• Engage with participants of all ages and communicate with parents.
• Complete session trackers and reports.
• Assist lifeguard duties and community-building.
