Job summary

St. Anthony Summit Hospital in Frisco, CO is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician for a seasonal assignment starting 11/23/2026 through 3/27/2027.

You will promote patient safety by managing decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments. You will monitor sterilization equipment, maintain records per AAMI/AORN/Joint Commission/OSHA, mentor staff, and prepare for regulatory surveys while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification is required.
• Seasonal assignment from 11/23/2026 to 3/27/2027.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages supplies and instruments using proper techniques.
• Packaging guidelines promote successful sterilization.
• Follow device manufacturers' instructions for cleaning and care.
• Ensure that single-use devices are not reprocessed unless FDA guidelines allow.
• Sterilize supplies and instruments using prescribed methods (steam or gas plasma).
• Operate washer/decontaminator per department policy.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Certified Sterile Processing Tech, you will promote improved quality and patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department, performing routine tasks related to decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and supplies.

Every day you will operate and monitor sterilization equipment, maintain meticulous records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. You will also maintain your certification, monitor/instruct/mentor non-certified staff, and actively facilitate the department's preparation for survey/regulatory assessments, contributing to a culture of patient safety.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Certified Sterile Processing Technician with meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of safety and compliance standards, and a commitment to ensuring quality and patient safety in the OR.

• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages supplies and instruments using proper techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of how items to be sterilized should be packaged in a manner that promotes successful sterilization.
• Understands the recommended practices for cleaning and care of surgical instruments and powered equipment and the device manufacturer's validated and written instructions for use.
• Understands that devices labeled as singleuse should not be reprocessed unless the FDA guideline for reprocessing of singleuse devices can be met.
• Sterilizes supplies and instruments using the prescribed method (e.g. steam, gas plasma (Sterrad).
• Operates washer/decontaminator per department policy and procedure.

This seasonal position is slated to start 11/23/2026 and end the week of 3/27/2027

*External SPD's are eligible for a $4,000 Seasonal Incentive.*

*$400/month Summit County housing stipend available for full time residents of Summit, Park, Eagle, Grand, Clear Creek or Lake Counties. Must work at least 80% physically on-site at facility in Summit County and full time or part time status (PRN ineligible). More details available upon offer.*
