American Heritage Companies invites applications for the Assistant Stage Manager role with The Polar Express Train Ride in Durango. This seasonal, part-time position supports the Production Stage Manager and Special Events Coordinator to run performances safely and smoothly.

You will oversee rehearsals, manage props and costumes, coordinate with Front of House and other departments, and help deliver a memorable guest experience while adapting to live-show challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience in stage management or related live events.
• Strong leadership and supervision abilities.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all cast rehearsals before and during the operating season.
• Supervise performers to ensure safety and production standards.
• Coordinate with Front of House, Ticket Office, Train Operations, Facilities and Security.
• Coach and provide performance direction to maintain quality guest experience.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding and mentoring new cast members.
• Maintain inventory of props, costumes, and event accessories.
• Inspect and organize production materials before/after each day.
• Foster a positive, professional team environment.
