Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Seasonal Plow Driver for the Transportation Division to perform snow removal on county roads during winter operations. This temporary/seasonal night shift role includes on-call availability based on weather events.

Responsibilities include operating snow removal equipment, performing routine maintenance on assigned gear, attending safety training, and supporting broadened duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Snow removal equipment operation required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Colorado CDL Class B license with no restrictions required.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and operate hand tools.

A Seasonal Plow Driver in the Transportation Division performs snow removal on County roads; some physical labor may also be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS: (All persons, with or without reasonable accommodation, who can perform the essential functions/tasks required of this job or position will receive consideration.)

(1) Operate various snow removal equipment to clear snow and other weather or disaster related emergency situations.

(2) Responsible for proper care of assigned equipment.

(3) Attend safety and job training classes.

(4) Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (The following requirements are necessary to reasonably ensure the County that the individual selected for this position will be able to perform the essential functions, tasks of the position.)

(1) Skills/Knowledge:

Working knowledge and ability to operate snow removal equipment.

Ability to provide day-to-day maintenance of equipment.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.

(2) Experience/Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Proven work experience as an equipment operator and/or truck driver; any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the listed knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.

(3) Visual Acuity/Hearing/Speaking: Effective verbal communication skills.

(4) Physical Effort/Dexterity: Must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift and carry 80 pounds. Must be able to use a variety of hand tools.

(5) Environmental Factors: Must be able to work under adverse conditions for extended periods of time. Such conditions will include dirt, noise, rain, snow and extremes of temperatures.

(6) Work Schedule/Characteristics: Varied work schedules are required during certain weather conditions.

(7) Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License Class B or above without restrictions.
