Job summary

Applitrack, Champaign County Highway Department, is seeking part-time seasonal snowplow operators to clear county highways for the 2026-2027 season. Crews operate snow removal equipment around the clock to keep roads open during snow events.

Shifts are 12-hour split shifts; night, day, and weekend work may be required based on snowfall. A valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement is required; snow plowing experience is preferred but not required.

SUMMARY

The Champaign County Highway Department has multiple openings for part-time seasonal snowplow operators to plow snow on the county highways for the 2026-2027 snowplow season.Champaign County operates snow removal equipment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on 12-hour split shifts until the roads are clear. Operators may plow at night, during the day and on weekends depending on need.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• (Required) Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
