Responsibilities

• Ensures continuous feed of cushions into automated sewing machines.
• Monitors machine operation and changes bobbins as needed.
• Coordinates with Production Leads and Quality Coordinator for materials validation and timing.
• Maintains the organization and flow of cushions; verifies shells and poly at changeovers.
• Performs machine changeovers for bobbin, thread, and recipe adjustments via touchscreen.
• Assists with other production tasks to support goals.
• Adheres to safety protocols and uses PPE; reports safety concerns to supervisor.
• Keeps the plant/warehouse tidy and organized.

Job description

Work Schedule: 1st 7- 3 :30 pm, 2nd 3:00 pm-11:30 pm M- Fri ( OT will be required during peak season)

The Automated Long Arm Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining automated long arm sewing machines used in the manufacturing process. This role involves setting up the machine, monitoring production runs, and ensuring that all products meet quality standards. The operator must have a strong attention to detail and be able to work efficiently to meet production targets while adhering to safety and quality guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensures proper and continuous feed of straightened cushions into automated sewing machines .


• Monitors the machine during operation to ensure that it is running smoothly and producing high-quality stitches. Replaces bobbins as needed during production runs.


• Partners with Production Leads and Quality Coordinator for validation of materials and timing. Coordinates with maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.


• Maintains order and organization of all cushions to ensure smooth flow of goods. Verifies proper shells and poly at changeovers with the Quality Department.


• Conducts changeovers on the machine with both bobbin, thread, and recipe changes through the touchscreen and maintains proper setup of all manual adjustments .


• Assist with other production tasks as needed to support overall production goals.


• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while handling products and operating equipment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety concerns to the supervisor.


• Other duties as requested, including general housekeeping of the plant/warehouse.

Required Skills:

• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills; written documentation and tracking of materials; verbal interaction with multiple individuals at various levels within the plant .


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.


• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially in maintaining quality standards and detecting defects.


• Team player: must be willing to pitch in to assist team members with other duties as requested.


• Basic troubleshooting abilities and the ability to effectively communicat e issues to supervisors or managers.

Physical Abilities:

• Ability to push/pull up to 50lbs.


• Must be able to sit, bend, twist, stoop, stand, and walk for at least 3 hours at a stretch, over an 8- or 10-hour shift, with 15-minute breaks.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
