Job description

Job Title: Server Assistant
Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager
Direct Reports: None
FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt

General Summary: The Food Runner is responsible for providing prompt and polite service to the members and guests. Other key responsibilities include acting as the liaison between the kitchen and servers and preparing, cleaning, and closing service stations.

Essential Functions:

  1. Deliver food orders from the kitchen to members’ tables promptly and accurately.
  2. Replenish linens and dining equipment including silver and glassware for service; ensure all equipment is in good condition and polished.
  3. Assist with table setting by placing appropriate tableware, utensils, and napkins; preparation of food items, displays, and buffets.
  4. Assist with table side service of beverages, bread and butter, and ashtrays.
  5. Keep the area clean, neat, and organized according to Board of Health standards; properly clear and crumb tables.
  6. Deliver supplies to the beverage department and bartenders in service bars as needed.

  1. Customer service skills with a friendly and welcoming approach.
  2. Professional attitude and high standard of dress and presentation.

  4. Good oral communication skills and the ability to read and write in the English language.
  5. Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
  6. Basic math skills include the ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  7. Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.

Education/Experience:

  1. High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  2. 6 months of comparable food and beverage service experience preferred.

Environment: This position operates in a fast-paced indoor environment. The climate will be hot, humid, and somewhat noisy at times.

The employee must push, pull, lift, balance, and carry trays of food up to 50 pounds repetitively. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
