Real Life Photo Co is seeking a Seasonal School Portrait Photographer to provide a unique photography experience in schools across Denver. This role is physical and requires good social skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for students. The position will run from July 2025 until May 2026, with rigorous training offered in July and a pay rate starting at $20 per hour.

Real Life Photo Co. is a growing school portrait company that provides a unique and personalized school portrait photography experience to over 20 schools in the Denver metro area.

It is our mission to create a seamless and stress-free picture day for schools and their families. We strive to create images of students that are artful and unique, reflecting back who they truly are by being intentional with our interactions. We go above and beyond to serve those we work with by displaying unreasonable hospitality, making each person we come into contact with feel seen and loved.

Our photographers are the face of our company and the most crucial part of our business. We're looking for experienced individuals that are interested in growing our mission of making a better picture day possible for all we work with.

Duties

• Working behind the camera with staff and students to make them feel welcome, comfortable, and encouraged on picture day.
• Creating a personal connection with your subject that ultimately leads to natural expressions and personalized images.
• Having a great eye for detail to make sure everyone looks their best before taking their photos.
• The ability to work with groups, small and large, as you may be photographing sibling groups, as well as class groups.

Job Specifications

• This is a seasonal position that will begin July 2025 and end May 2026.
• Busy season is August through December, with a small upturn again in the spring from January through April.
• There will be mandatory paid training in July.
• Pay starts at $20 an hour for the first 90 days with opportunity for increased hourly rate after the introductory 90 day period.

Requirements

• Must have at least 1 year of DSLR photography experience with a clear understanding of full manual mode.
• Enthusiasm for working with kids ages 3 month to 18 years in a school environment.
• Proficiency in multitasking, as well as the ability to remain flexible and patient.
• Must be available Monday through Friday.
• Must be available early morning hours as some schools ask us to be there as early as 7:30am.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• A clear understanding that this is position is physical in nature and requires some lifting of equipment (up to 40 lbs), long periods of standing, sitting, being on your knees.
• Reliable computer and internet access for sharing image files.
• Must have a good general understanding of Google Drive.

Job Types: Contract, Seasonal

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week

Compensation Package:

• 1099 contract
• Hourly pay

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
