Position Overview

The Seasonal Scale House Operator is responsible for weighing trucks entering and leaving quarry/sand pits, printing sales tickets, and accurately entering data into computer software for computation, reconciliation, and recordkeeping. This position reports to the Sales Manager.

Wage ranges from $17 to $19 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a truck scale indicator and weigh trucks accurately.
• Solicit information from drivers professionally.
• Perform data entry and generate sales tickets efficiently.
• Verify outgoing trucks are on daily dispatch before generating sales tickets.
• Communicate with the bucket truck operator via radio.
• Generate and email daily transaction reports.
• Maintain cleanliness standards in the work area.
• Cover multiple scale houses as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in aggregate, asphalt, or construction preferred.

Work Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge/Skills

• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Operate job-specific software and office equipment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Use data review and reconciliation techniques.
