Job summary

Alt’s Operation, based in Verona, WI, is seeking a Salt Truck Operator to drive a salt route during winter storms. You will load your truck with a skid steer, respond to on-call emergencies, and help keep commercial and residential properties accessible through snow. A CDL is not required, but having one earns a pay raise.

Seasonal role with potential growth into year-round work. Competitive hourly pay now, with uniforms/PPE provided and overtime paid after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record.
• Ability to operate a skid steer to load salt.
• Seasonal winter role (Nov–Apr) with on-call storm response.
• Reliability when weather turns; long shifts outdoors in cold conditions.
• Physical stamina to work outdoors in winter weather; climbing in/out of the truck.

Responsibilities

• Drive a salt route to keep properties clear during storms.
• Load your own truck, operate a skid steer to fill the salt spreader, and respond quickly.
• Prioritize no-tolerance sites first, then complete remaining routes to cover all properties.
• Drive cautiously in winter conditions, protecting vehicle and load.
• Perform pre- and post-run maintenance checks and stay storm-ready.
