Job summary

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in California seeks an ICU/Staff Nurse to coordinate and deliver nursing care, while teaching patients and families. The role requires leadership within a multidisciplinary team and adherence to professional nursing standards in a busy clinical unit.

The incumbent will care for adults and geriatrics in the ICU, assess patient status, and operate critical care equipment with familiarity of McKesson EMR. Onsite, full-time schedule with 36 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Current active California RN license.
• Minimum 1 year acute care hospital experience.
• Prefer 1 year DOU or ICU experience.
• Graduate from a school of nursing with diploma, associate degree, or BSN.
• BLS, ACLS, Cardiac Arrhythmia class & NIHSS Stroke Scale certifications required upon hire.
• Critical Care course must be attained within 6 months.
• Electronic Medical Records experience; working knowledge of McKesson preferred.
• Computer-literate (Word and Excel).

The primary patients provided care on the ICU are adults and geriatric patients who have a medical or surgical condition which requires specialized care and close observation. The Staff ICU Nurse must be competent in the assessment of young adult to geriatric patients for appropriate behavior, motor skills and psychological norms. He/she must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect, and cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical. The ICU Nurse must be knowledgeable in the use of the ICU equipment and monitoring devices.

Requirements
