Job summary

Good Samaritan Medical Center, part of Tenet Healthcare, seeks a Registered Nurse for night shifts on a per diem basis. You will deliver and evaluate nursing care under supervision, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, education, and family guidance.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license and CPR/BLS certified.
• Basic EKG certification required.
• ACLS certification due within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of GSMC medication test and GSMC EKG test.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs across physical, psychosocial, educational, and development aspects.
• Develops and documents a written plan of care.
• Delivers nursing care and communicates patient activities and assessments.
• Evaluates patient responses to interventions and teaching.
• Demonstrates leadership in nursing practice.

Job Type: Per Diem

The Professional Staff Nurse plans, delivers and evaluates nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of the Director and/or designee. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs of the patient.
• Develops a written plan of care using assessment data and provides teaching and guidance to patient and/or family as well as staff members.
• Implements nursing plan of care on assigned patients and communicates and Documents patient activities, needs and assessments.
• Evaluates the patient’s response to interventions/teaching.
• Demonstrates leadership skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Education / Licensure / Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse, State of Florida
• CPR certification (Basic Life Support)
• Basic EKG certification
• ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Successful completion of GSMC medication test
• Successful completion of the GSMC EKG test

Minimum Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care setting.
