Job summary

Medical City Arlington is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role is Days, PRN, with a $62 per hour pay rate and a defined seasonal period from September 20, 2026 to April 3, 2027.

Seasonal Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Medical City Arlington

Shift: Days, PRN

Pay: $62 per hour

Seasonal Program Duration: September 20, 2026 to April 3, 2027.

Program Requirements

• All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
• Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
• Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4-week schedule period.
• During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager).
• Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
• Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses.
• Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
• Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026 - 2027 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.
• Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
• Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date
