Seasonal Recreation Attendant - Naturalist (Piedmont Environmental Center)

Join our team at the City of High Point as a Seasonal Recreation Attendant - Naturalist at the Piedmont Environmental Center. This role involves supporting summer nature camps, assisting with outdoor nature activities, supervising campers, and helping to design and implement educational programs related to environmental concepts.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting staff in summer camp activities and programs.
  2. Engaging school-age children in nature-related activities.
  3. Supervising and escorting children during activities.
  4. Maintaining cleanliness and safety of facilities and outdoor areas.
  5. Communicating with supervisors and preparing materials for activities.
  6. Enforcing safety policies and conducting safety inspections.
  7. Participating in staff meetings and preparing areas for meals.
  8. Greeting parents and children, and managing inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina Driver's license.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Ability to lead groups and understand child development.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in customer service roles.

Preferred: Teaching or group leadership experience in educational settings.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: Must be able to see clearly, communicate effectively, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform light to medium physical tasks.
