Job summary

The City of Wichita is seeking entry-level, seasonal, or part-time public contact staff across Recreation Center, Athletics, Tennis Center, and Watson Park locations. Work hours vary with assignments at 840 N Yale St and supervision provided.

Position emphasizes serving customers, handling cash, food preparation, product stocking, and game supervision. Eligibility includes being at least 16 (18 for some roles) and legal to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Basic arithmetic functions
• Ability to count money and make change; use a computer to access, interpret and record information
• Ability to handle high volume of customer inquiries in person and by phone
• Ability to lift and carry boxes or loads up to 25 pounds
• Ability to communicate clearly and build relationships with the public and coworkers

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at concession counter
• Receive and disburse cash
• Prepare and handle food
• Stock concession products
• Perform basic equipment maintenance
• Supervise children and lead games or activities
• Officiate or keep score for sports activities
• Set up and take down building furnishings
• Operate a vehicle as needed
• Other related duties as assigned
