Job description

The Inspector I position plays a crucial role in maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction through thorough visual inspection of products. This position is responsible for examining, evaluating, and ensuring products meet established quality standards and customer specifications. The Inspector I also conducts proper packaging operations, while adhering to safety protocols and workplace organization standards. The role serves as the primary quality checkpoint in the production process, requiring keen attention to detail, strong visual acuity, and consistent application of quality standards. This position requires an individual who demonstrates reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality while maintaining productivity standards in a manufacturing environment.

Temporary seasonal worker needed for a 6-month period. Compensation includes a retention bonus of $6,000 paid in two-month intervals: $1,000 after 60 days, $1,500 after 120 days, and $3,500 after 180 days. The shift is 12 hours, night shift from 7 pm to 7 am with a $2.50 shift differential, working a 36/48 schedule including weekends and holidays.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Perform thorough visual inspections of products according to customer specifications.
  2. Identify defects based on established quality standards.
  3. Monitor product consistency and conformity to requirements.
  4. Escalate quality defects to Quality Lead as appropriate.
  5. Pack products according to specified procedures.
  6. Apply appropriate labels and packaging materials.
  7. Ensure proper product orientation and arrangement.
  8. Participate in safety improvement programs/projects including BBSOs and 5S events.
  9. Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area, including cleaning responsibilities.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing experience a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to understand technical instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to quickly identify and sort finished products.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment.
  • Drug screening required.
  • Background check required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Quality inspection techniques.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety, food safety, and GMP requirements.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inspection.
  • Time management and workspace organization skills.
  • Hand-eye coordination and physical ability to meet job demands.
Physical Demands & Work Conditions:

The associate will be exposed to manufacturing environment hazards, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, extended periods of standing, twisting, reaching, wrist rotation, and wearing PPE. Work involves exposure to noise, solvents, fumes, inks, variable temperatures, and may require night shifts, weekends, and holidays. An additional $2.50/hr premium applies for night shift hours.
