Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking applicants for seasonal Public Works positions in Downtown Services, Street Maintenance and Water & Sewer Maintenance. Duties include hydrant painting, water main flushing, landscaping, general maintenance and roadside cleanup. Must be 18+, have IL driver’s license, lift 50 lbs, and pass a physical, drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old by start date.
• Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in all weather.
• Must pass physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Fire hydrant painting and water main flushing.
• Grass mowing, basic landscaping and general maintenance.
• Painting, patching holes and minor utility repairs.
• Roadside cleanup and operating powered equipment as assigned.
