Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the communal guest spaces.

• Provide front desk support and assist with check-out items and mail.
• Greet and check in guests, vendors, and visitors during breaks.
• Ensure policies protect guests, volunteers, and staff.
• Escalate issues to the Family Placement Manager as needed.
• Support volunteers and assign tasks as needed.
• Assist guest families with welcome bags, trips to the toy store, and clothing closet runs.
• Support on-site programs and activities including Meals from the Heart dinner program.

Job Title: Seasonal PT Guest Services Coordinator

Starting Pay Rate: $21.30

Primary Purpose:

The Seasonal PT Guest Services Coordinator is vital to the day-to-day operations of the South Waterfront House in the Rood Family Pavilion and the East House on the Randall Children's Hospital campus. As a hands-on, guest-facing role, this position is responsible for maintaining inviting communal spaces, interacting with guest families, supporting on-site programs, delegating tasks to volunteers, and responding to guest needs throughout the day while modeling values of compassionate hospitality. Scheduled through January 31st, this seasonal opportunity brings the exciting potential for top-performing team members who excel in delivering exemplary service to transition into a permanent, full-time position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the communal guest spaces at the RMH South Waterfront House and RMH East House including doing dishes, cleaning communal spaces, and restocking supplies.
• Demonstrate commitment to compassionate hospitality principles with each family interaction and create a comfortable environment that encourages family cooperation and a home-like environment.
• Provide support to the front desk including covering breaks, delivering check-out items and delivering mail.
• Fulfill Front Desk functions when covering breaks including greeting and checking in guests, vendors, and visitors.
• Clean and put away check-out items as needed.
• Assure adherence to policies and processes that maintain the well-being of guests, volunteers, and staff.
• Elevate issues and problems to the Family Placement Manager and the House Directors as needed.
• Support volunteers and assign tasks as needed.
• Help support guest families by fulfilling guest needs such as handing out welcome bags, trips to the toy store, taking families to the clothing closet and delivering guest items.
• In collaboration with the Family Placement team, provide on-site support for all in-house programs and activities including the Meals from the Heart dinner program.
• Required to work holidays and weekends.

Requirements

Experience Required:

• Requires at least two years of work experience in a customer service or similar position that involves interaction with the public.
• Experience in the hospitality industry (preferred)
• Experience working with children and families, especially in crisis (preferred)

Skills Required:

• Enthusiastic with excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate in both a verbal and written manner.
• Enjoy collaborating with a variety of different people.
• Ability to work independently.
• Understanding of food safety and ability to obtain a food handlers permit.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.
• Must be able to work on your feet for several hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Work Environment:

• Most work will be conducted in either an office, community program area or a kitchen environment.
• Work will be primarily indoors.
• Employee may be required to lift up to 30lbs.
• May need to adjust schedule as needed.
• Required to work holidays and weekends.
• Will be asked to cover other staff shifts as needed.

Schedule:

• This position offers one guaranteed 8-hour shift per week (Mondays, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM), with additional hours available by picking up open shifts and filling in as needed.
