Job summary

Vail Health is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse for PreOp/PACU at our Dillon Surgery Center in Dillon, CO. This role concentrates on perioperative nursing care before and after procedures, in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting, with opportunities for professional growth and a season-end bonus upon successful completion.

Seasonal staff are eligible for housing support, a season completion bonus, health insurance, wellness reimbursement credit, and 403(b) retirement plan eligibility.

Qualifications

• One-year clinical experience required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Colorado or a valid compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
• Associate Nursing Degree required for positions hired after 07/01/2018.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily patient flow to optimize care, safety and satisfaction.
• Triages incoming patient requests for services.
• Delivers patient education to facilitate care plans and informed decisions.
• Delegates care according to Colorado statutes.
• Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and prioritizes critical thinking.
• Handles high volumes of patient calls for medications and information.
• Administers medications and assists in procedures while following safety guidelines.
• Coordinates patient care with physicians and other teams.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Delivers service through Relationship-Based Care prioritizing safety and communication.
