Job summary

Oaklawn Jockey Club is looking for a Food Runner to join our team in Hot Springs, AR. You will set tables, serve meals, and maintain clean, orderly dining areas while ensuring guests receive timely and accurate service.

We value friendly, professional presentation and strong guest-service skills; 1+ year in food service and guest service is preferred. Evening shifts and overtime may be required as part of operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 1+ years food service experience preferred.
• 1+ years guest service experience.
• Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set tables, serve food orders and remove used dishes and utensils.
• Ensure guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving food in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain a friendly and professional image at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.
• Provide excellent guest service and assist with other duties as assigned.
• Carry food, dishes, trays and silverware from kitchens to serving counters.
• Stock all areas of the venue and keep tables clean and reset.

We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Food Runner. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Food Runner responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils.
• Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.
• Always presents a friendly and professional image at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.
• The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: Provide excellent guest service.
• Clean up spilled food, drink and broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash.
• Carry food, dishes, trays, and silverware from kitchens and supply departments to serving counters.
• Carry trays from tables and booths with soiled dishes, glassware, and silverware to kitchen and dishwasher.
• Fill beverage and ice dispensers.
• Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays.
• Replenish supplies of food and equipment at steam tables and service bars.
• Scrape and stack dirty dishes, and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning.
• Stocks all areas of the venue.
• Cleans, resets and maintains tables.
• Maintains all equipment.
• Assures F&B areas are maintained in accordance with company standards, as well as all applicable regulations.
• Remains up-to-date on property events and hours of operation.
• May be assigned to various venues throughout the property depending on business needs.
• Cooperates and communicates with all fellow team members, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude.
• Makes efforts to keep informed of company information and communications by participating in department meetings, huddles and reviewing property bulletin boards, digital signage, and company newsletter.
• Assists other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department.
• Upholds a Four Diamond & Four-Star service model.
• Maintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guests.
