Job summary

Six Flags New England is seeking a Maintenance Helper to support pool operations, perform water testing, and help maintain the park’s pool areas. You will participate in opening and closing procedures and assist with routine repairs while following Massachusetts Health Codes.

The role requires you to be at least 18 years old, possess strong communication skills, and be willing to work in outside weather. Basic mechanical knowledge and a proactive approach to safety are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in pool maintenance or basic water chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Test pool-water hourly and adjust water chemistry per Massachusetts Health Codes.
• Maintain filtration/circulation systems and backwash filter media; clean hair & lint strainers and skimmer baskets.
• Assist with general maintenance: painting, concrete repairs, landscaping, pressure washing.
• Maintain pool area and perform minor repairs for public safety.
• Inform Senior Water Technician when supplies/chemicals are needed.
• Take steps during weather-related shutdowns or other unplanned conditions.
• Perform daily opening, operating, and closing procedures.
• Take ownership of your area and act professionally at all times.
• Enforce Six Flags New England policies.
• Assist in other Maintenance Department areas as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Testing the pool-water hourly and as required and make any necessary adjustments in water chemistry to the specification’s required by Massachusetts Health Codes.
• Maintaining the filtration/circulation systems, including regular backwashing of the filter media and cleaning of the hair & lint strainers and skimmer baskets.
• Assist with general maintenance projects that include, but not limited to, painting, concrete repairs, landscaping and pressure washing.
• Maintaining the general pool area, and making any necessary minor repairs to insure the safety of the public
• Informing the Senior Water Technician when supplies and chemicals are needed
• Taking appropriate steps in the event of a shut-down due to weather or other unplanned conditions
• Performing daily opening, operating, and closing procedures
• Taking ownership of job and pride in the area
• Acting professionally at all times
• Enforcing all Six Flags New England policies
• Assisting in other areas of the Maintenance Department
• Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to work in outside weather conditions to include extreme temperatures, wet and humid weather or airborne particles
• Some mechanical knowledge and background of pool maintenance preferred
• Willingness to learn about pool maintenance

Other Functions:

All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole.
