Job summary

City of Durango seeks a Police Services Technician to provide non-certified law enforcement support. You will respond to citizen requests, assist sworn officers, and help with a wide range of administrative duties to uphold public safety and municipal ordinances.

The position is seasonal, 6 months, with an anticipated 20 hours per week. Ideal candidates have strong customer service experience, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to community engagement.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of customer service experience, preferably in law enforcement, code enforcement, or a related field.
• A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years, or the ability to obtain a driver's license upon hire.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service from the public at the police station, by phone, or in person.
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports.
• Provide administrative and technical support for sworn officers and other police employees.
• Patrol or travel via foot or vehicle as needed for incident response and to enforce municipal ordinances.
• Assist with archaeological background information on liquor license applications and related investigations.
