Job summary

Durango Police Department seeks a Police Services Technician to provide comprehensive, non-certified law enforcement support. You will respond to citizen requests, investigate incidents, prepare detailed reports, and assist with a broad range of police and administrative duties.

This 6-month seasonal role offers about 20 hours per week and supports sworn officers while upholding municipal ordinances and community safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years customer service experience, preferably in law enforcement or related field.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record for past 3 years, or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Knowledge of city services and municipal structures as they relate to law enforcement.
• Understanding of evidence procedures and safe handling of hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Transition interested candidates into a Police Officer position.
• Respond to calls for service from the public at the police station, by phone, or in person.
• Investigate and prepare reports on incidents, including cold cases and traffic incidents.
• Provide administrative and technical support for sworn officers and police staff; deploy safety devices as needed.
• Assist with liquor license background information and vehicle/license data management.
