Job summary

HANSENS IGA INC in Wisconsin’s Sparta area is seeking a dependable Seasonal Delivery Driver to transport plant racks from growers to retail locations. You will operate a straight truck, load and unload plant racks, and ensure accurate delivery paperwork.

The role requires meeting delivery times, safe driving, and maintaining logs and inspections. Flexible spring and fall schedules include early mornings and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license for the vehicle operated is required.
• Acceptable driving record is required.
• Experience operating a straight truck is preferred.
• Delivery, agricultural, nursery, greenhouse, or retail distribution experience is helpful.
• Ability to safely maneuver large plant racks with a pallet jack.
• Read delivery instructions and use GPS or navigation tools.
• Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work independently.
• Must meet company, insurance, and DOT requirements, including a medical card if required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a straight truck safely and responsibly.
• Pick up racks of plants from growers and deliver them to assigned locations.
• Load, secure, and unload plant racks while preventing damage to plants and equipment.
• Confirm that each shipment matches the delivery paperwork.
• Follow assigned routes and meet scheduled pickup and delivery times.
• Communicate delays, damaged products, shortages, or delivery concerns promptly.
• Complete required delivery logs, inspection reports, and other paperwork accurately.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck.
• Follow company safety procedures and all applicable traffic and transportation regulations.
• Provide courteous, professional service when working with growers and location employees.
• Assist with other seasonal duties as needed.
