Job summary

FAO Schwarz is seeking a Seasonal Personal Shopping Assistant to support the VIP shopping experience during the holiday season in New York. You will prepare shopping rooms, greet clients, coordinate with Personal Shoppers, and help keep the flow of product moving from arrival to checkout.

You’ll work part-time (20-29 hours per week) with $19.00 per hour plus a store incentive bonus, employee discounts, and benefits including telehealth and a 401(k) plan.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and reset VIP shopping rooms between appointments, stocked, polished, and ready.
• Own the start and end of every appointment, greeting each client with warm, personal attention.
• Coordinate daily with security on the day's appointment schedule, ensuring clients are welcomed.
• Partner with Personal Shoppers to keep product flowing in and out of the room.
• Stay close to the pace of every shop, helping the shopper keep things moving for on-time starts.
• Ring up and pack purchases with care, making the visit feel special through to checkout.
• Work with Operations to ship and track purchases, extending the shopping experience home.
• Flex into ad hoc or larger group appointments, VIP tours, or events to protect the FAO experience.
• Capture clear, client-ready product photos to support virtual shopping requests.

The Seasonal Personal Shopping Associate keeps the personal shopping experience running without friction. Working alongside Personal Shoppers, this role owns the prep, recovery, and behind-the-scenes support that lets every VIP shopping experience feel seamless from the moment a client arrives to the moment they leave.

Creating the Magic

As a Seasonal Personal Shopping Assistant, you will:

• Prepare and reset VIP shopping rooms between appointments, so clients always walk into a space that's stocked, polished, and ready the moment they arrive.
• Own the start and end of every appointment, greeting each client with the warm, personal attention that sets the tone for their visit.
• Coordinate daily with security on the day's appointment schedule, so every client is expected, verified, and welcomed without delay.
• Partner with Personal Shoppers to keep product flowing in and out of the room, so the shopper never has to step away from the client mid-appointment.
• Stay close to the pace of every shop, helping the shopper keep things moving so the next client\'s appointment always starts on time.
• Ring up and pack purchases with the same care a client gave to choosing them, so the visit feels special right up until the very end.
• Work with Operations to ship and track each client\'s purchases, so a client\'s shopping experience doesn't end when they leave the room; it follows them home.
• Flex into ad hoc or larger group appointments, VIP tours, or events, covering or picking up wherever the moment calls for it, to protect the experience FAO clients count on.
• Capture clear, client-ready product photos to support virtual shopping requests, giving Personal Shoppers what they need to close sales remotely.
