Job Overview

The Retail Seasonal Associate works in the branch assisting clients with a variety of routine banking transactions, exemplifying Valley's quality service standards, and complying with operational procedures.

Expected Work Hours

20-40 hours per week

Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Performing all transactions required by customers using appropriate technology to provide effective and efficient service.
  2. Processing deposits and withdrawals, including loan payments, holiday club payments, and savings.
  3. Selling money orders and cashier's checks.
  4. Processing or balancing cash boxes, managing office work, filing signature cards, and completing end-of-day proof. Maintaining and balancing cash boxes.
  5. Utilizing technology such as Teller Scanning Equipment, Cash Recycling, and Cash Dispensing machines, and supporting customers in using Coin Machines.
  6. Meeting customer expectations, achieving service quality standards, and fulfilling mystery shop expectations.
  7. Maintaining knowledge and compliance with the Bank's Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
Required Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including customer service, attentiveness, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and high accuracy; capable of handling multiple projects.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or scheduled instructions.
  • Customer engagement skills to discuss products and services.
  • Sound decision-making skills, including on-the-spot transaction decisions and assessing customer satisfaction versus risk.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Required Experience:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or current enrollment in high school or college.
  • Prior cash handling or customer service experience preferred.

Full-time position

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Location: North Plainfield, New Jersey, United States

Pay Range: $16.50 - $25.24 per hour
