College Medical Center Long Beach is seeking a dedicated per diem Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team through peak season, delivering high-quality respiratory therapy as prescribed by physicians and collaborating with the medical staff to plan individualized care.

The ideal candidate holds a California RCP license, NBRC credentials (RRT or CRT), and current CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP cards, with experience in acute care settings preferred.

Qualifications

• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license and graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Preferably one year of experience in acute care hospital including arterial blood gas analysis and therapy delivery.
• Current NBRC credentials (RRT if graduated after 2015; CRT if before 2015) and current CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed respiratory therapy treatments and medications.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations, including arterial blood gas analysis.
• Evaluate patient responses and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Document care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment.

Job Summary:
College Medical Center is seeking a dedicated per diem Respiratory Care Practitioner/Respiratory Therapist to join our team through peak season. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality respiratory therapy services to patients as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to established standards and practices. You will collaborate closely with medical staff to assess, plan, and implement individualized respiratory care, contributing to improved patient outcomes and high standards of care in our facility.

Qualifications:

• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license and graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program

• Preferably one year of experience providing all aspects of respiratory care in an acute care hospital, including arterial blood gas analysis, therapeutic modalities for oxygen and medication delivery, chest physiotherapy, patient assessment, and related procedures

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) if graduated after January 1, 2015, or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential if graduated prior to January 1, 2015

• Current CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP provider cards are required upon hire

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, additional compensation may be available for College Medical Center roles, such as shift differentials and other special pay practices.
