Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX seeks a Seasonal Registered Nurse in Pediatric Medical-Surgical to provide expert nursing care for infants, children and adolescents and to support families in addressing options, concerns and care plans.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, plan and evaluate care, supervise staff, and deliver education while collaborating with managers and hospital councils to shape patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Qualifications

• RN licensure active in good standing.
• PALS within 6 months of start date.
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments following standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and resource use.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed staff per policy.
• Educate patients and families, addressing age- and culturally appropriate needs.
