Summary: The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

Sales Generation and Guest Service
  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
  • Demonstrate product utilizing product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with Team.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
  • Perform personal sales and look for opportunities to impact Teammates’ presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
  • Achieve personal sales goals and provide legendary service across store areas.
  • Assist Guests with fitting merchandise, checkout, bagging, and preparing items for alterations.
  • Understand exchange and return procedures and utilize the SPG daily.
  • Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business metrics.
  • Place Special Orders and develop good Guest relationships.
  • Maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations.
  • Perform leadership actions and maintain high standards consistently.
Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development
  • Recognize recruiting opportunities and utilize various referral methods.
  • Create relationships through Guest Loyalty programs.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to foster a positive floor culture.
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turn.
  • Stay current on product range and provide feedback on product improvements.
  • Ensure the sales floor is well-sized and freight is displayed properly.
Operations
  • Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
  • Open and close cash registers, handle transactions, and balance cash drawers.
  • Recognize security risks and follow Loss Prevention guidelines.
  • Perform merchandising tasks, maintain a clean store, and communicate concerns to management.
  • Understand and apply Buckle’s policies and code of ethics.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Additional Information

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Benefits include Teammate Discount, Performance Bonuses, Employee Assistance Program, 401(k), and Paid Sick Time (where applicable). No prior experience required. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, and other physical activities. The work environment is a retail store with moderate noise levels.
