Job description

Job Title: Special Events Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred; three years of college coursework and/or related experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of recreation activities and special events planning; of equipment and techniques of various recreational activities.

Skills Required:
Ability to plan and organize events and activities; provide leadership to volunteers; follow oral and written instructions; communicate effectively orally and in writing; interact with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds and of varying ages; develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

Driver's License Requirement:
Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six
