Job summary

North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated parks maintenance team member to care for facilities, grounds, and common outdoor spaces.

You will mow, trim, weed, and keep trails clean while assisting with light repairs and events. This role requires physical stamina, reliability, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Interest in outdoor work and willingness to perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible work habits.
• 16+ years of age.
• Ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of park facilities and grounds.
• Mow lawns, trim vegetation, and maintain landscaped areas.
• Maintain park trails and remove debris.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Assist with minor repairs to buildings, fences, signs, and equipment.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and groundskeeping equipment.
• Set up and take down signage and equipment for events.
• Monitor grounds for safety hazards and report issues.
• Support staff during emergencies, events, or high-traffic periods.
• Interact courteously with visitors and provide basic information.
