Job summary

Macy’s is seeking a Seasonal Float Fabricator to contribute to building floats, props, and other scenic elements for Macy’s iconic events, including the Thanksgiving Day Parade, Spring Flower Shows, and 4th of July celebrations.

You will weld, fabricate, install, and collaborate with production teams; lifting up to 50 lbs, weekend/holiday work may be required. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, welding, painting, or sculpting required.
• Ability to read scale drawings and use scale models.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy items and work in a production shop.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field encouraged.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays including Thanksgiving Eve/Day.

Responsibilities

• Works as a welder, fabricator on floats and studio projects.
• Assists with installations, set ups and takedowns.
• Crew member for parade setup and events as needed.
• Collaborates with Production and Engineering on methods and execution.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Shop Manager or Production Manager.
