Job summary

Simplot Grower Solutions is seeking a Seasonal Operations Support worker in Independence, OR. This full-time, temporary role supports daily plant operations with potential substantial overtime and benefits.

Primary duties include assisting with equipment maintenance, loading blends, and safe on-site work conduct. Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED with related experience; truck driving and familiarity with smart devices/ELD are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with related experience considered.
• 1+ years related experience; truck driving preferred.
• Proficiency with smart devices and ELDs is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of local rural geography is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic farm equipment and operation preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a seasonal environment.

Responsibilities

• Equipment and plant maintenance; welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and housekeeping tasks.
• Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers; operate equipment to blend products.
• Receiving and unloading product; perform warehouse inventory and storage functions.
• Maintain safety at all times while performing duties.
• Represent themselves and the Company professionally.
• Miscellaneous duties including assisting with special projects and training sessions.

Summary

Simplot Grower Solutions is looking to fill a seasonal Laborer/Operations Support position. Full-time, temporary, position with full benefits and the opportunity for substantial over-time hours. The primary responsibility is to assist with daily plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment and plant maintenance; including welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and general housekeeping responsibilities
• Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers, operating equipment to blend fertilizer and chemicals, cleaning and storing equipment after application process
• Receiving and unloading product and performing warehouse inventory and storage functions
• Maintain a conscientiousness for safety at all times while performing all duties
• Represent selves and the Company professionally at all times
• Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, etc.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position

• 1+ years related experience
• Truck driving experience preferred
• Proficiency with smart devices and ELD's (Electronic Log Device) is highly preferred
• Knowledge of local rural geography is a plus
• Knowledge of basic farm equipment and operation preferred
• Ability to do a variety of tasks in succession, i.e., blending products together, loading a truck, and driving the truck to a farm

Required Certifications

• Valid Driver's license
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Must be willing and able to work Ag-Industry hours, which may include:
  • Early mornings
  • Late evenings
  • Overtime as seasonal needs demand
  • Weekends and holidays as seasonal needs demand
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job
