Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for a temporary seasonal role. The position involves operating x-ray equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring safety and quality in radiographic procedures.

Responsibilities include patient communication, collaboration with staff and physicians, and adherence to Joint Commission regulations. CPR and AART registration are required.

Job description

This is a Temporary Seasonal Position. Potential Start date: Late September, throughout the end of 2026

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED. The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.

Job Duties

  • Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in the following: Orthopedic Radiology, Pediatric Radiology, Operating Room Radiology,
  • Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain x ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff.
  • Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
  • Record amount and type of film exposed; label film with identifying information; sort as required.
  • Consult with lead x-ray tech and radiologist to ensure compliance with established standards of quality.
  • Process film in accordance with standardized procedures and maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition.
