Job summary
HCA Healthcare is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Austin, TX to provide specialized care for newborns in a high-acuity NICU. The role emphasizes accurate assessments, development of care plans, and collaborative delivery of evidence-based care within the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities include admissions, ongoing infant assessments, discharge planning, medication administration, and family education.
Qualifications
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN.
- 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- BSN degree required.
Responsibilities
- Complete admission assessments of newborns.
- Create and revise care plans including discharge planning.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of infants and communicate changes.
- Administer medications and perform treatments according to policy.
- Assist transport teams in stabilization and documentation for transfers.
- Provide families with homecare education and support materials.
- Assist mothers with breastfeeding alongside Lactation Department.
- Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards.
