Job summary

Montana DNRC Conservation Seedling Nursery seeks a Native Seed Technician to support post-harvest processing, inventory preparation, and seed sales. You will process, clean, and package eco-regional seed from production fields and prepare seed for storage and shipment.

Primary duties include operating processing equipment, sorting and labeling seed lots, and assisting with orders. This is a short-term, indoor-focused role with occasional outdoor tasks and physical work in fall/winter conditions.

Qualifications

• The successful applicant must be dependable and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience or interest in seed production, inventory, or nursery operations is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate seed cleaning and processing equipment.
• Hand-clean and sort seed when necessary.
• Weigh, measure, mix, package, and label native seed.
• Maintain accurate identification of seed lots and track inventory.
• Assist with seed sales and order fulfillment.
