Job summary

John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Wisconsin is seeking a Seasonal Museum Educator I to engage visitors through public programming in the SocialSTUDIO and participatory tours at the Arts Center and Art Preserve. The position supports education staff by preparing materials, directing tours and workshops for all ages (with emphasis on K-12 school visits), and participating in docent trainings and briefings.

The role is seasonal, beginning September 2026 and ending August 2027, with 6.5–14 hours

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in customer service, education, or museums preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and work with guests in the SocialSTUDIO and maintain supplies and cleanliness of the space; support SocialSTUDIO tent at Levitt Amp concerts; staff the A/I Collective; support Public Programming at special events and openings as needed.
• Direct participatory tours and workshops using education department standards for visitors of all ages, focusing primarily on k-12 school visits, at both the Arts Center and Art Preserve.
• Prepare materials for programs and help clean up and organize materials after programs.
• Participate in all docent training meetings and curatorial briefings.
