Job summary

Interstate Moving | Relocation | Logistics is seeking a seasonal mover/helper for October through December in Springfield, VA. You will load and unload vehicles containing household goods or office furniture, assisting in safe handling and inventory tasks.

Responsibilities include inspecting trucks for damage, preparing vehicles, lifting and loading items, recording inventories, supporting the crew, and aiding warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 1–3 months related training.
• Ability to read, write and understand English instructions.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly, and up to 250 pounds with assistance.
• Willingness to perform warehouse duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspecting the truck for damages and travel readiness.
• Assist in preparing vehicle before leaving the warehouse and noting defects.
• Safely lift, pack, load and unload the vehicle as required.
• Write complete and accurate inventory of household contents or goods.
• Assist the crew leader and others on the job site as directed.
• Assist with warehouse operations as needed.

SUMMARY

The mover/helper loads and unloads vehicles containing household goods, office furniture or other goods in a safe and careful manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists in the inspection of the truck assigned for noted damages, flat or worn tires and travel worthiness.
• Assists in the preparation of vehicle before leaving warehouse to assure that all materials are placed on vehicle and that any defects are noted and all fluid levels are checked and taken care of.
• Properly and safely lifts, packs, loads and unloads the vehicle as required.
• Writes complete and accurate inventory of household contents, office furniture or other goods when required.
• Assists in any capacity as directed by the crew leader on the assigned job.
• Assists when necessary, in any operation of the warehouse.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one - or two - step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
