Job summary

Vail Resorts in Washington state is hiring for winter 2026/27 for seasonal roles including Lift Operators on the Lift Experience team. Responsibilities include ensuring passenger safety, loading and unloading lifts, and delivering friendly, efficient service while guiding guests through premier mountain terrain.

Starting wage $20/hr; Winter Seasonal 2026/2027; Full Time and Part Time hours; housing available; no prior experience required as training is provided; must work outdoors in all weather

Qualifications

• No experience is necessary, we train all lift operators.
• Must be able to make quick decisions and use judgment regarding safety, multitask and anticipate issues.
• Must be physically capable of assisting guests while loading lifts; may lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of inclement weather, standing and moving for entire shift.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor the safety of passengers while providing instruction and customer service in the safe loading and unloading of lifts; manage the speed of lift as needed.
• Operate lift to ensure optimal chair capacity as determined by guidelines.
• Proactively notify maintenance/dispatch of repair or maintenance needs.
• Work with Lift Maintenance to learn operation of lift equipment.
• Implement emergency procedures as required, including contacting Patrol.
• Ensure lift ready for operations; set up/ disassemble maze daily.
• Follow company policies and maintain a clean lift area.
