Job summary

Total Wine & More in Metairie, LA seeks a Merchandiser to maximize in-store inventory, assist with curbside and delivery orders, and provide exceptional customer service. You’ll join a team focused on displays, promotions, and efficient store operations while learning products across wine, beer, and spirits.

The role supports seasonal staffing and requires flexibility for evenings and weekends, physical stamina, and compliance with alcohol-safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-3 years of experience
• 1+ years of experience in a retail setting preferred
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends
• Physical requirements (with or without accommodations)
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8‑10 hours a day
• Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets
• Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
• May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday

Responsibilities

• Maximize product inventory by processing freight, stocking merchandise, and building displays
• Deliver exceptional service by greeting customers and providing product information
• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge
• Keep knowledge of promotions and loyalty programs up to date
• Maintain store safety and cleanliness
• Ensure adherence to laws related to alcohol sales and a safe store environment
• Perform cross‑functional duties as needed
• Load and deliver orders safely if delivery is an essential function
