Responsibilities
  • Schedule:
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays; weekday hours are also available.
  • Schedule varies based on weather and attendance and is subject to change during spring and summer.
  • Position Summary:
  • As a Merchandise Sales Associate at the New York Aquarium, you will play a key role in preparing, promoting, and selling Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) store products. Your contributions will ensure that guests have a safe, fun, and educational experience while exploring the Aquarium.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales: Drive sales by showcasing product knowledge and leveraging cross- and upselling opportunities.
  • Guest Service: Deliver exceptional guest service by maintaining knowledge of park exhibits and amenities; answer guest inquiries and create a positive, educational experience.
  • Operations: Maintain a clean and organized workspace; process payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system while adhering to WCS cash handling and inventory policies; restock shelves and assist with inventory control procedures; support team operations by completing additional tasks as assigned; safely handle and move items weighing up to 35 pounds (e.g., supplies); remain at designated posts for extended periods in various weather conditions to ensure smooth operations.

Internal Qualification Requirements
